Fermi America and the Texas Tech University System have appointed two veteran nuclear industry executives to lead the nuclear development of a massive advanced energy and artificial intelligence campus planned for Amarillo.
Mesut Uzman will serve as chief nuclear officer, and Sezin Uzman will take the role of vice president of nuclear supply chain and compliance. The announcement was made Aug. 12 in Amarillo.
The company says the $13 billion project could become one of the largest advanced energy and AI complexes in the world, with up to 11 gigawatts of planned generation capacity. About half would come from new nuclear reactors, supplemented by natural gas, solar, battery storage and grid-supplied electricity.
