MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WREG) – Ezekiel Kelly, the man accused of going on a deadly, hours-long shooting spree across Memphis, Tennessee, in September 2022, has changed his plea to guilty in a deal accepted in court on Wednesday.
Kelly is accused of multiple shootings and carjackings across Memphis that left four people dead and three injured in a violent rampage that lasted for hours. The incident, which was partially livestreamed by Kelly, left Memphis in a panic.
On Wednesday, attorneys entered guilty pleas on 28 counts. Kelly was sentenced to three life sentences served consecutively with no parole, plus 221 years. The deal took the death penalty off the table.
Attorneys said the deal was approved by all victims' families.
