Nearly 300 New Jersey school bus companies failed to prove their drivers were qualified to transport children before the 2023-24 school year began, a new state report says.

The report , released Wednesday by the Office of the State Comptroller, found many companies had not provided proof their drivers were properly licensed, trained and vetted.
