East Kilbride Thistle will play host to an Alan Paterson Memorial tournament next month as they remember their former player and manager – three years on from his untimely passing.
The popular postal worker, from the Murray, passed away suddenly at the age of just 44 on September 20, 2022.
And the Jags will now come together with some of Alan’s former clubs to hold a festival of football in his honour.
On Sunday, September 14, the Jags’ side will be joined by a team from Cambuslang Rangers, Whitehills FC, where Alan started his coaching career, and Paterson FC, a team made up of family and friends.
There will also be youth games held on the day to allow Alan’s two young sons Aidan, 13, and Kian, 9, to participate and play on the Showpark turf their father once graced.
