When free agency started, the Milwaukee Bucks were one of the most active teams. One of the biggest moves they had this summer was waiving Damian Lillard. It came as a surprise since Lillard is due to miss the entire 2025-26 season after suffering a torn Achilles tendon in the first round of the 2025 NBA playoffs.

The reason why the Bucks opted to release him was to make room for Myles Turner, whom they signed on a four-year, $108.9 million contract . The front office also added guard Cole Anthony to the team on a one-year contract . Veteran guard Gary Harris also joined the roster on a two-year deal.
