Blevins to lead Chilhowie Warriors
Andy Blevins is the new girls basketball coach at Chilhowie High School.
The 49-year-old graduated from Chilhowie in 1994 and was a multi-sport athlete.
He spent the previous 14 seasons as an assistant boys hoops coach at his alma mater, including 13 as the head junior varsity coach.
“When I heard that the position of head coach of the Lady Warrior basketball program was available, I was encouraged to apply by friends and family,” Blevins said. “I didn’t take the decision lightly. I spent time in prayer about it, and I truly believe God encouraged me to give this a shot as well.”
Blevins takes over for Mark Halsey, who had held the position since 2000 and led the Warriors to a state championship in 2014.
