LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Ten local agencies will receive $4.5 million over the next couple of years from the Coalition for the Homeless , thanks to their Bezos Day 1 Families Fund grant .
Louisville Outreach for the Unsheltered is one of the agencies getting money over the next four years.
Executive Director David Smillie said the grant will help continue their work in helping families experiencing homelessness in Louisville.
“We run a very volunteer-focused program. It helps us maintain the program that we’ve had great success with in the past. We’re very excited,” said Smillie.
The money will support many initiatives, including rapid rehousing programs, expansion of family shelters, transitional housing services, and provide crucial financial assistance to help unhoused families overco
