There's not much Waukee Northwest junior Mack Heitland can't do in athletics.
On the hardwood, Heitland started 20 games for the Class 4A state runner-up and averaged 6.9 points, 2.4 rebounds and 1.5 steals. He shot 52.8% from the field and a scorching 48.6% from beyond the arc on over 100 attempts. During the track season, he qualified for the 2025 Drake Relays in the 4x400-meter relay and took sixth at the state track meet in the same event with a time of 3:19.06. In baseball, he pitched in 12 games for a team that made the state semifinals in July, posting a 1.84 ERA.
It's in football, though, that his passion shines the most.
