The Kitsap Fair and Stampede is gearing up for its annual takeover of the fairgrounds this August, filling it with rodeo competitions, live music, carnival rides and the kind of food you only find once a year. Here's a look at what to know before attending the five-day event at Fairgrounds Road and Stampede Boulevard just off Highway 303, between Bremerton and Silverdale.

Planning your visit

Beginning on Wednesday, August 20, the gates to the fair and stampede open at 10 a.m. and continue to open at that time each day through Sunday. The fair closes at 9 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday and 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, but the carnival remains open until 11 p.m. each night.
