I'm on vacation which means I brought too many books hoping to find the one to satisfy my itch for the best summer read yet. Fortunately it's a road trip so there's plenty of room in the car for the stack. The trouble is I've read some great books this summer that use humor to shine light on what can be dark topics. They're smart, witty and packed with characters you never want to say goodbye to. Like summer in the dead of winter, it can be hard to satisfy a craving for the warmth of a good story when you remember the real thing. You know it will come again but in the moment it can feel so out of reach.
