Blake Shelton has had undeniable success both in country music and on The Voice - therefore, it's kind of a no-brainer that he created his own singing competition series .

The "God's Country" singer, 49, went into (some) detail in the first trailer for the upcoming reality show, The Road , which premieres on October 19.

The whole premise of the show is that 12 country hopefuls will compete for a chance to open for country icon Keith Urban . The contestants, in fact, will actually be performing with Urban all across the country - as they try to win over the audiences at each venue. That will then determine which contestant will move on to the next show with the "Somebody Like You" singer.
