ST. FRANCOIS COUNTY, Mo. (KFVS) - An 18-year-old motorcycle driver died in a crash on Wednesday afternoon in southeast Missouri.
Troopers responded to the crash around 5:37 p.m. on Wednesday, August 13.
According to the preliminary crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the 18-year-old from Park Hills, Mo. was driving a 2001 Suzuki VS1400GLP westbound on Loughboro Road east of Ritter Creek Road when it failed to negotiate a curve, overturned, slid and crossed the center of the road into the eastbound lane.
Troopers say the 27-year-old woman from Farmington, Mo., driving a 2017 Ford Fusion eastbound, was unable to avoid the motorcycle and hit it.
They say the driver was thrown from the vehicle and off the right side of the road. He died at the scene.
