PEORIA, Ill. – Peoria Police responded to a ShotSpotter alert Tuesday night on W. Antoinette, indicating 12 rounds were fired.

PPD Spokesperson Semone Roth says once they arrived, officers found a 30-year-old man who’d been shot in the leg. It appears the man was struck while sitting outside a residence.

The man was taken to a hospital for treatment. His injuries were not considered serious.

Officers conducted a thorough search of the area, including the use of a drone, but did not find a suspect.

The incident remains under investigation.
