WATERBURY — Waterbury Hospital Wound Center is the first wound center in Connecticut to offer a cutting-edge and personalized spray-on skin treatment to heal complex wounds. The technology called RECELL Spray-On Skin Cell treatment is an advanced, personalized solution using a patient’s own skin cells to create a spray-on skin solution that covers and and rapidly heals complex wounds.

A small sample of the patient’s healthy skin is removed and processed with specialized equipment to create a spray-on solution of their own activated skin cells. Once applied to the wound, these cells stimulate healing and natural skin regeneration. The spray-on skin cells contain activated keratinocytes, which play a key role in fast and complete skin regeneration.
