Members of the Weyburn Police Service were called to a local drinking establishment regarding unruly patrons in the early morning hours of August 9th, resulting in charges laid for Assault as well as Assault Causing Bodily Harm.

Upon arrival, officers determined a fight had occurred, and one person was transported to the hospital for assessment. The assault investigation remains ongoing, and charges are pending.

"Could be multiple assault charges, back and forth, could be a fighting bylaw. Maybe one person just gets charged with assault. That one's still ongoing," shared Deputy Chief Shane St. John.

The investigation is complete on another incident that occurred later that same night, when police were called back to the same establishment for a second fight involving multiple individual
