The body of a person who had been presumed drowned in Harrison Lagoon has been located and recovered, the Agassiz RCMP said Saturday afternoon.

Emergency crews began searching the area after receiving reports of a possible drowning Friday.

Police say they were first called to the scene shortly before 11:30 p.m.

The Harrison Hot Springs Fire Department and search and rescue teams joined in the search, but they were unable to find the individual.

Crews returned the following day to continue looking, and police announced Saturday afternoon they had found the body.

Police aren’t releasing any details about the missing person at this time.
