The ongoing demonization of immigrants appalls many people of faith — except, it seems, for those Christian nationalist acolytes of the radical right.

The treatment of undocumented immigrants, refugees, asylum seekers and migrants is egregious. ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) has morphed into a cruel, careless and devastating arm of the government.

I’m not a Bible-thumper, but maybe it’s time to bang some heads with the Good Book.

Scripture has a great deal to say about how to treat the foreigner, the refugee, the stranger. One must seriously question whether Christians who align themselves with MAGA politics have read, much less understood, these teachings.
