The Saskatoon Hilltops have dug themselves into a hole to start the 2025 Prairie Football Conference season.

They’re left searching for answers ahead of their PFC home-opener Sunday afternoon against the Edmonton Huskies.

“It’s not like we haven’t been here before, but, if this is ground zero, then we’ve got to start climbing, we’ve got to start figuring out how we’re going to make this thing better because the Edmonton Huskies, they’re a good football team,” longtime Toppers coach Tom Sargeant said.

The Hilltops are coming off a shocking 31-11 loss to the Winnipeg Rifles this past weekend. While they now face an Edmonton squad that dropped its season-opener 31-16 to the reigning PFC champion Regina Thunder, the Huskies have, historically, given the Toppers trouble.
