LOUISVILLE, Ky. —

A woman was shot and killed Wednesday morning at a school bus stop in Louisville, Kentucky.

Louisville Metro Police were on the scene at West Chestnut Street and 11th Street. Police said the shooting happened just before 8 a.m. Several people were at bus stops when the shooting happened.

The child was not hurt, and police said they are making sure the family gets the support they need.

According to police, they took a 15-year-old into custody in connection with the shooting at The Academy at Shawnee. Around 2 p.m., police said that teen had been released because he was at the scene, but not involved.

The shooter is still at large. He has been described as a young Black male wearing a red hoodie and black sweatpants.
