TEANECK, New Jersey (WABC) -- A large branch fell from a tree hitting two pedestrians and a vehicle in Teaneck, New Jersey.

It happened at Sussex and Churchill roads on Thursday morning.

"This morning we had pedestrians walking here on the roadway and unfortunately a large limb came off of a plywood tree here in Teaneck," said Jaclyn Hashmat, Teaneck Township Manager.

Two women in their 30s were seriously injured.

A father and his young daughter were inside the car, but were not hurt.

"We are just fortunate that the injuries are not as severe as we were originally worried. We are being told it's non-life-threatening, so that's good. We are going to take the steps necessary ensuring the safety of the area by removing the tree, in coordination with the homeowners," said Chief Andrew Mc
