by Lake County Animal Shelter The Lake County Animal Shelter is once again participating in NBCUniversal Local’s Clear The Shelters campaign, a national pet adoption and donation initiative running Aug. 1–31. Now in its 11th year, Clear The Shelters connects NBC and Telemundo stations with local shelters and rescues to help find homes for animals in need. Since its launch in 2015, the campaign has helped nearly 1.2 million pets find adoptive homes and raised more than $5 million for participating organizations. “During the Clear the Shelters adoption drive last year, we placed 447 pets into new loving homes,” said Whitney Boylston, director of the Lake County Animal Shelter. “Our goal this year is to exceed that number, and we need the community’s help to match homeless p
