MONROE, N.C. — The Union County Republican Party will hold its monthly executive committee meeting Thursday, Aug. 14, at Sun Valley High School, but only registered Republicans will be allowed to attend.
The gathering, set for 7 p.m. in the school’s auditorium, will feature an update from U.S. Rep. Mark Harris, who represents North Carolina’s 8th Congressional District. Harris is scheduled to take questions from the audience following his remarks.
In addition to the congressional update, the agenda includes other party business and discussions about preparations for the 2026 and 2028 election cycles, as well as upcoming municipal races in Union County in 2025 and 2027. Party leaders said they are seeking volunteers for a variety of roles.
Organizers emphasized that the meeting is open o
