Tributes have been paid to an Oasis fan who died in his hotel room as he got ready to go and watch one of their shows.

Alessandro Croce, 30, who was Italian, had travelled to Scotland for the Manchester band's reunion tour.

He collapsed at his accommodation in Edinburgh on Tuesday, August 12.

Reports from Italy suggest that he had been getting ready to attend the show at Murrayfield stadium that night when he suddenly took ill.

Desperate attempts were made to resuscitate him by friends and paramedics, however Alessandro sadly died at the scene, the Daily Record reports.

It is understood Alessandro's family have arrived in Edinburgh to fly his body home to Italy.
