Residents of central Pennsylvania should prepare for intermittent fog and the potential for afternoon thunderstorms Thursday. Dense fog patches may create morning travel challenges, while isolated showers and thunderstorms are most likely in the afternoon.

A slow-moving cold front is stalling over the region, creating humid conditions with temperatures climbing into the 80s.

Fog will be most persistent in the southern and central mountain areas , potentially reducing visibility in the morning.

Afternoon thunderstorm chances are highest in the southeastern half of the region, but the likelihood of storms overall is pretty low. In the Harrisburg area, storms are most likely between 1 and 4 p.m., the weather service says.

Temperatures will be in the low to mid-80s with muggy condition
