Ohio native Kristin Strobel will return to the city she grew up in to promote her debut book Edison Goes to Washington.

Ms. Strobel will sign copies of the children’s book at the Sanger Branch Library, 3030 Central Ave., at 3:30 p.m. Friday.

The book follows a young boy named Lucas, a nod to the county where Ms. Strobel grew up, on a class visit to Washington, D.C. He slips away from the group to visit the statue of Thomas Alva Edison that stands in the U.S. Capitol’s National Statuary Hall.

The statue comes alive to teach Lucas how it came to be. The author knows the story well since she helped bring the actual statue to life.

The book retails for $33 and can be purchased at bookstore.dorrancepublishing.com. Attendees are encouraged to pre-purchase the book and bring it to the signing
