Legendary Denver Broncos receiver Lionel Taylor has died, the organization announced on Wednesday. He was 89 years old.

Taylor is an original member of the Broncos Ring of Fame and was on the inaugural Broncos team in 1960. He was the first player in pro football history to catch 100 passes in a season and was Denver’s career receiving leader when he retired in 1968.

He still ranks in the top 5 in career receptions (543), receiving yards (6,872) and touchdown receptions (44) for the Broncos.

Lionel Taylor led the AFL in receiving in five of his first six seasons in the league. He caught 92 passes for 1,235 yards and 12 touchdowns in 1960. His 102.9 yards per game average remains a Broncos record.
