LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - A court hearing regarding the homeless encampment behind Dietrich Park in Lansing was held on Wednesday.

The judge ruled that the encampment could remain, but with certain modifications.

The court ordered the property owners, two local businesses, to provide portable toilets and trash removal services for the site.

The judge noted that failing to take action would harm the city and compromise the health and safety of residents.

The business owners have 14 days to comply with the order.

If they do not, the City of Lansing will be authorized to enter the property, perform the necessary cleanup, and charge the property owners for the costs.
