WEST HAZLETON, Pa. — A man faces charges after allegedly shooting a bystander in Luzerne County.

Police say Guillermo Ventura, 21, exchanged gunfire during an argument with another man along Warren Street in West Hazleton on Wednesday.

One person sitting on a porch nearby was hit by the gunfire. Investigators later determined the bullet that struck the victim was fired by Ventura.

Ventura faces charges of aggravated assault, discharge of a firearm into an occupied structure, recklessly endangering another person, and propulsion of missiles onto roadways.

Police are still searching for the second man involved in the incident. Anyone with information is asked to contact West Hazleton Police at (570) 455-3733.
