Hamilton police are investigating a suspected swatting incident after being called to a Mountain home Thursday morning for a shooting that was not real.

Shortly after 8 a.m., police received a call from someone who claimed to be at a home on Burkholder Drive, northwest of Upper Sherman Avenue and Mohawk Road East, said Const. Trevor McKenna. The caller reported that he had shot his mom and was about to kill his sister and brother.

This led to a significant response, including patrol officers and paramedics. A perimeter was set up, and tactical officers from the emergency response unit were on route when someone exited the home, he said.
