Nothing is more exciting for a paleontologist than discovering new fossils after days of research. Luckily, this is not as uncommon as some may think. For instance, a team of researchers from the Manitoba Museum and the Royal Ontario Museum recently announced the discovery of a marine species that lived on our planet over 500 million years ago .
Similarly, in early August, a study published in the journal Palaeodiversity announced the discovery of a reptile previously unknown to researchers that inhabited the Earth thousands of years ago. The fossil was found by a group of researchers at Petrified Forest National Park in Northern Arizona, and gives interesting insights into the Tanystropheidae clade and northern Arizona’s ancient landscapes.
