A dangerous thug who left a homeless man severely brain damaged in a brutal attack has now been found guilty of his murder – 10 years after the disgusting assault.
Anthony Ellis, now 36, assaulted a homeless man in Whitworth Park, in the heart of Manchester city centre, on September 11, 2011, in an attack that horrified Manchester at the time.
Ellis was jailed for grievous bodily harm in June, 2013, for 12-and-a-half years after beating the man with a tree branch, and then calling the police pretending to be a good Samaritan.
But Ellis has now pleaded guilty to murder over 10 years on . Homeless man, Igor Pavlov died as a result of the original injuries inflicted on him.
