Two teenagers have been arrested after a 17-year-old boy was seriously injured in a horror machete attack in Wigan on Wednesday night (August 13).
The victim was rushed to hospital with a 'potentially life-changing injury' to his hand following the violent assault on Gloucester Street in Atherton at around 5.30pm.
Witnesses said the teenager was seen bleeding heavily near to the junction with Water Street, before being rushed to hospital. An air ambulance was also scrambled to the scene along with ambulances and multiple police vehicles.

It is understood the incident involved a large blade, such as a machete and that the victim suffered a serious laceration to his hand.
