BEMIDJI — The U.S.Highway 2 culvert replacement project near Bemidji is set to begin on Aug. 18, with motorists required to detour for approximately four days during the construction of each segment.

August 18: Highway 2 westbound lanes centerline culvert replacement from Washington Ave SE to Division Street. The detour is Washington Ave SE (Highway 197) to Division Street (Fifth Street).

August 25: Highway 2 eastbound lanes culvert replacement from Washington Ave SE to Hubbard County Road 36. The detour is Highway 71 south, Beltrami Line Road, Hubbard County Road 36.

Each project will be detoured for approximately four days, a Minnesota Department of Transportation release said. Thru traffic will not be allowed to ensure safety of the workers. The project is expected to be complete l
