AQA grade boundaries for 2025 as A-level students receive results

The proportion of A-level students awarded top grades rose again this year, but some will still be disappointed with the letters printed inside those nerve-inducing brown envelopes. Students across England, Wales and Northern Ireland receive their exam results today (Thursday), with the overall pass rate rising to 97.5% up from 97.2% last year.

For those unsure if they might have just missed out on a higher mark, it could be worth checking their grade against the exam board's grade boundaries.

These are published for transparency and if a student only missed out by a mark or two, it might be possible to ask for the paper to be re-marked in case it gets bumped up into the next bracket. Grade boundaries used to be publish
