LOGAN — A 29-year-old California man has been sentenced to jail and probation for wanting to have sex with an undercover police officer, posing as a 13-year-old. Victor Manuel Davila was arrested two years ago after driving to a location to meet the supposed teenager and finding police waiting to take him into custody.

According to court records, Davila was sentenced Aug 6 in Logan’s 1st District Court. He previously accepted a plea deal, pleading guilty to enticing a minor, a second-degree felony. As part of the agreement, prosecutors dismissed a remaining charge.

Davila began messaging a Logan City Police officer in August 2023. The officer was posing as a 13-year-old girl on a popular chat app.
