Edinburgh police have responded to a crash on the Queensferry Crossing on Thursday afternoon.

Drivers have been warned of the incident which was first reported around 4.20pm. Emergency services are at the scene with the route restricted during rush hour.

It's not yet known how many vehicles are involved. Drivers have been urged to 'approach with caution'.

Images show traffic building with around two police cars and a recovery vehicle at the scene.

Traffic Scotland warned drivers to expect delays. A statement shared on X reads: "M90 Queensferry Crossing.

"The M90 Queensferry Crossing is currently restricted heading Northbound due to a road traffic incident. Drivers are advised to use caution on approach and expect delays.

"Further updates to follow as we get them."
