A girl who died following a tragic incident at a waterpark has been named, as an inquest into her death has been opened.

Four-year-old Vethavalli Vasu-Dharma died after becoming unresponsive at Waterworld in Stoke-on-Trent on August 4.

The Mirror previously reported that staff and paramedics battled in vain to save the girl. Multiple people called 999 desperate to help the youngster and paramedics arrived just three minutes later and found staff and visitors performing CPR.

The ambulance team quickly took over resuscitation of the girl who was then rushed to hospital, where she later died.
