WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) - A 35-year-old Great Bend man was found not competent to stand trial in a sexual assault that happened last July 11 at the Larned pool.
Avian Rincones appeared in Pawnee County Court on Wednesday for a hearing on charges of two counts of aggravated criminal oral sodomy of a child under the age of 14 and one count of aggravated indecent liberties with a child under the age of 14. Rincones was interviewed at the scene at the time of the offense, but no arrest was made due to concerns about his mental capacity. He later turned himself in after charges had been filed.
The judge found that it's unlikely that Rinones will become competent in the near future because of his mental condition. The court entered an order directing the Secretary of the Kansas Department of Agin
