ROCK ISLAND, Illinois (KWQC) - The Quad Cities are coming alive this weekend as the Alternating Currents Festival returns August 14–17.

The four-day, multi-city event brings music, comedy, film, and live art to downtown Davenport, Rock Island, and Bettendorf, and nearly everything is free to attend.

On Thursday night, Rock Island’s Arts Alley will host a block party with live music, pop-up shops, a silent disco, family-friendly activities and plenty of local food and drinks.

Festival organizers say it’s one of the region’s biggest celebrations of music, comedy, film and art.
