First lady Melania Trump has threatened to sue Hunter Biden for $1 billion over comments he made linking her to child sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein .

First reported by Fox News , Trump accused Biden of making "false, defamatory, disparaging and inflammatory statements" about her in a letter dated Aug. 6 from her attorney Alejandro Brito to Biden.

The letter demanded Biden apologize for and retract statements he made in a video interview with British journalist Andrew Callaghan published on YouTube on Aug. 5, titled "Hunter Biden Returns.”

"Failure to comply will leave Mrs. Trump with no choice but to pursue any and all legal rights and remedies available to her to recover the overwhelming financial and reputational harm that you have caused her to suffer," Brito wrote.
