A 49-year-old St. Catharines man has been arrested on child luring charges after being identified in an online sting that targets suspected child predators.
At 5 p.m. Saturday, Niagara Regional Police were called to an address in St. Catharines for a report of an indecent act.
Police said a third-party group used online decoy tactics to identify a person they believed to be a child predator. The group confronted the man at his home before contacting police to turn over their evidence, live streaming the entire time.
Detectives in the internet child exploitation unit then took over the investigation.
On Wednesday, police identified and arrested the man.
