It’s about time for the landmark clock on Pittsburgh’s South Side to get a facelift.

Pittsburgh Brewing Company is taking over as the sponsor of the massive 60-by-60-foot Duquesne Brewery Clock, painting over the gray facade that’s been in place since 2017 with a bright red and “Iron City Beer” plastered in white lettering.

The clock, located high above Jane Street between 21st and 22nd streets, spans more than 3,000 square feet, with minute and hour hands weighing a combined total of 4,300 pounds, according to Pittsburgh Brewing Company.

The Pittsburgh Brewing Company was formed in 1899 through the combination of 21 local breweries, including Iron City Brewery — the largest one in the merger.
