It is simply amazing that a football team that has had 40 different starting quarterbacks since its reincarnation in 1999 can be so relevant. At the current rate, the team could hit 44 just a few weeks into the season. Thank goodness they don’t count the preseason in that number.

Overreaction theater regained its rightful place after Shedeur Sanders helped the Cleveland Browns win a meaningless game 30-10 over the Carolina Panthers on Aug. 8.

Sanders was 14 for 23 for 123 yards and two touchdowns. It was a performance worthy of making his critics do a double-take. He played better than a fifth-round pick.
