The ongoing case between far-right activist Laura Loomer and HBO host Bill Maher continued this week after she posted on X about her deposition.
Bulwark reporter Will Sommer posted an excerpt of court documents that cited the post.
"The claims that Plaintiff makes in her Tweets are not only false and misleading, but fly in the face of the Court's unambiguous order that deposition materials should be used only for the purpose of litigation. Plaintiff has continued her pattern of seeking to use discovery as a vehicle for increasing her own fame and profits," the HBO legal team says.
Loomer's post on X claims that she wanted her deposition to be public and that the HBO lawyers wanted it to be sealed.
"Doesn’t it speak volumes that I was willing to have mine go public, but he wants his sealed? What is @billmaher so afraid of?" she asked.
"Everyone who reads my deposition will see first hand (sic) how Bill Maher defamed me," she continued. "I answered every single question. People always want to hide what they don’t want others seeing (sic) when they have something to hide. I sat for over 8 hours and answered every question from that Trump hating (sic) leftist lawyer Kate Bolger, a Democrat donor who happens to be the same lawyer who is now representing Rupert Murdoch in the defamation lawsuit Trump just filed against him. I have nothing to hide because I told the truth. I’m not the one who SEALED IT."
Sommer noted that Loomer already angered the judge after she made an Arby's deposition public. He noted that due to this incident, she "may ALSO violate court rules and want to complain to the judge."
