EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - Evansville Police say a speeding driver didn’t want to stop for them, and now he’s in jail.

They say Wednesday night, Dominic Corino was clocked at 77 mph in a 50 mph zone.

Officers say he was heading west on the Lloyd Expressway over Weinbach.

Police say as they drove to catch up with Corino, he accelerated and turned off all his lights.

They say he weaved around traffic, and officers reached 100 mph trying to catch up with him.

Officers say Corino was eventually slowed down by traffic, and they were able to pull him over.

Corino’s affidavit shares a transcript of part of his conversation with officers.

It shows he told them he didn’t have a good reason for trying to get away.
