PITTSFIELD TWP., MI — For years, Jennifer Coronado thought it was unlikely her son had been killed over a comment on social media. She always thought there must be more to his death — that there was some fight over a girlfriend or theft.

“I don’t think he really thought it was a real gang,” said Coronado, 41. “I don’t think he really thought that his comment would have upset someone because they were mourning the loss of someone.”

Sean Longoria, 18, was shot around 4:30 p.m. June 22, 2022, in the 1000 block of S. Harris Road in Ypsilanti Township. He died the following day.

He had told Coronado that he left a comment on social media in response to someone’s death, Coronado told MLive/The Ann Arbor News. “He was washing dishes and he was telling me, ‘can you believe this kid got killed?
