The world's oldest lemur living in captivity has sadly died aged 39, it was announced today (Thurs).
Stumpy passed away peacefully at Five Sisters Zoo in West Calder, Scotland on Sunday.
Guinness World Records recognized the ring-tailed lemur as the oldest living in captivity in June of this year.
His age of 39 is double that of the average age of his species, experts said.
Stumpy was born in Surrey in 1986.
He then arrived at Five Sisters Zoo in 2005, when the zoo first opened its doors, along with his six sons.
