His Penn State football coaches and teammates believe that he’s being overlooked.

They don’t understand why Khalil Dinkins is drawing little preseason attention outside Lasch Building.

“I don’t think enough people are talking about Dinkins,” center Nick Dawkins said. “He’s an elite tight end. He’s the best blocking tight end in the country. What he does in the pass game and how he sells fakes is impressive.”

Dinkins has been overshadowed during his college career by Brenton Strange, Theo Johnson and Tyler Warren, who are all in the NFL.

Now it’s Dinkins’ chance to emerge and become the No. 1 tight end for the Nittany Lions.
