LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) - With less than two weeks to go before the kickoff of the 2025 college football season, Texas Tech fans are already met with an unwelcomed change - one that involves tortillas, a signature for game day kickoffs in Lubbock.
On X, Ross Dellenger with Yahoo! Sports reports Big 12 athletic directors have voted 15-1 to “solidify an existing game management policy related to the throwing of items onto the playing surface”.
While the first two violations will result in a warning, the third will result in a 15-yard penalty.
This ruling extends to all schools in the conference.
However, Tech would be the most-affected because of it’s long-standing tradition.
