UCF men’s basketball is set to face Pittsburgh in the opening round of the Legends Classic at the Ocean Center in Daytona Beach on Nov. 20 at 7 p.m.

The matchup marks the second encounter between the two teams, with the Panthers having claimed victory in their first meeting, 55-44, on March 19, 2004.

Pitt finished 17-15 in Jeff Capel’s seventh season with the program.

Both Capel and UCF coach Johnny Dawkins began their college careers at Duke and both previously worked as assistant coaches for the Blue Devils under legendary coach Mike Krzyzewski.

Now in its 19th year, the Legends Classic has been hosted in various locations across the country, but this year’s event is the second time it will be held in Florida and the first time in Daytona Beach.
